Maintain trails in Pedersen Preserve

Pedersen Preserve is a 40-acre parcel of upland forest that was donated to the Green Horizon Land Trust by the Jim Pedersen family as a wildlife preserve. Located on Scenic Highway, this property on the Lake Wales Ridge was protected from development for more than 69 years by the Pedersens.

You'll be helping others to enjoy the nature trails at this preserve!


Please be sure to register via the button above so we know you're coming!

(and so you'll be in the loop for any last minute information)


 You'll be using hand tools while walking along the trails to clear back brush.

Please bring your work gloves and loppers, clippers, or hand saws. Drinking water will be provided.

Also, please wear sunscreen,sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants/long sleeves, and a hat. You may wish to bring a hiker's water bottle or similar to carry drinking water and insect repellent.


Driving directions:

From US 27 and Dundee Rd. head east on Dundee Rd./SR 542. Turn slightly right onto E. Main St. continuing onto FL-17 S/N Scenic Hwy. Entrance gate will be on the right just past Stalnaker Rd. which is on the left. Location is approximately 3.92 miles from US 27.
