We'll be hand pulling invasive Natal Grass (Melinis repens) and placing into plastic bags while walking in Sandhill habitat at the Warea Tract of the Seminole State Forest.  

How this helps:

The Warea Tract is an outparcel of the Seminole State Forest and was purchased for its incredible botanical diversity. Unfortunately, Natal Grass is invading from surrounding residential developments and needs to be removed by hand to protect the native plants.

We'll be working with Florida Forest Service Staff to help remove this invasive.

You'll want to wear sturdy work shoes, long sleeve shirts, long pants, and a hat. Also please bring your work gloves and a hiker's water bottle or similar with drinking water.

Start time is 9 AM, and we'll be working until around noon.

This conservation site is located to the southeast of Clermont,

1. Navigate to the intersection of US 27 and Hartwood Marsh Road on the south side of Clermont

2. Turn left onto Hartwood Marsh Rd and travel about 5 miles (the name may change to Marsh Road).

3. Turn right onto Williams Rd and travel 0.4 mi
