Large, dead oaks are falling on top of Longleaf Pine and rare plants at an
unnaturally high rate and we need volunteers to remove these heavy fuels off of
them so they will survive a fire. You'll be working with Florida Forest Service Staff to help remove these limbs and tree sections.
This conservation site is located to the southeast of Clermont, see the location and route from US 27 at this link: http://goo.gl/maps/qbOMT
You'll want to wear sturdy work shoes, long sleeve shirts, long pants, and a hat. Bring a hiker's water bottle or similar for drinking water.
Driving Directions
1. Navigate to the intersection of US 27 and Hartwood Marsh Road on the south side of Clermont
2. Turn left onto Hartwood Marsh Rd and travel about 5 miles (the name may change to Marsh Road).
3. Turn right onto Williams Rd and travel 0.4 mi
