Hand pulling an invasive plant at Big Pine Wildlife Environmental Area - Friday 09/29

To help celebrate our 75th Wildlife Management Area celebrations and an early National Public Lands Day, we will be removing an invasive plant from Big Pine Wildlife Environmental Area, north of Brooksville. The showy rattlebox is an invasive plant and we will be pulling it by hand - this is a family friendly event and all are welcome to get involved.

What we'll be doing:

We will be removing an invasive plant call showy rattlebox, which is currently in bloom and easily identifiable with its brightly colored yellow flowers. No special tool are required and this is a family friendly event.

What you need to bring:

We recommend that you bring a pair of gloves and a water bottle with you. It is also advisable to bring closed toed shoes (i.e. not flip flops), sun cream, and a hat.
