Exotic Pet Amnesty Day is a free event that is open to the public. There will be educational displays and live animals on exhibit. People who can no longer care for their exotic pets can surrender these animals, including conditional species, to the FWC with no cost or penalties. Healthy animals are made available for adoption that day to pre-approved adopters. Conditional species can be adopted by permitted recipients only.

Exotic Pet Amnesty Day is a free event that is open to the public. There will be educational displays and live animals on exhibit. People who can no longer care for their exotic pets can surrender these animals, including conditional species, to the FWC with no cost or penalties. Healthy animals are made available for adoption that day to pre-approved adopters. Conditional species can be adopted by permitted recipients only. We accept all exotic reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, mammals and invertebrates. Domestic pets, such as dogs, cats and rabbits, are not accepted.

Interested in becoming an adopter? We’re looking for people with knowledge and expertise in caring for exotic pets. There is no fee for becoming an adopter, however, all adopters must complete the proper application forms, available online, and be approved before the event to receive surrendered animals.
