can enjoy a local favorite beach on the bay, eat lunch, and tally up how much
trash we collected! Firehouse Subs Navarre will be providing sandwiches for lunch.
Maps
and directions will be sent to all those who are registered for the event.
Escribano Point WMA is located off of 87, about halfway between Navarre and
Milton. The GPS coordinates are 30.514092, -86.982673.
Walkers
& Kayakers Needed!
This
litter clean-up will take place both on the land and on the water. We need help
from walkers to clean up an old access road that is no longer open to the
public, but still holds litter from when it was open. We also need kayakers to
help clean up the marshy shoreline of the WMA. Those wishing to kayak/canoe will need to provide their own boat, paddle, life jacket, etc.
**Please note: We have hit our capacity for kayakers, but still invite you to walk! Please email Emily.hardin@myfwc.com if you are interested in being put on the waitlist for kayaking.
Space
is limited! Register
now to join our clean-up efforts. If registration is full, you will be put on a waiting list.
Weather: We will be monitoring the forecast for Sunday and will be making a final call Saturday evening. If wind and water conditions are deemed unsafe for kayaking, we invite everyone to walk. If thunder or lightening are imminent, we have will have to postpone or cancel. Please ensure that the phone number used in the registration is the best way to reach you, and if not, please email Emily.hardin@myfwc.com with your preferred phone number.
