The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens will host an Exotic Pet Amnesty Day on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012.  If you have an exotic pet that you can no longer keep, you can bring it to Amnesty Day. We will accept pets from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, and all healthy pets will be placed with qualified adopters (no dogs and cats, please).

If you have an exotic pet or are thinking about getting one, come and talk to experts about being a responsible exotic pet owner.  Amnesty day is free and open to the public.

Interested in helping the FWC find good homes for exotic pets in need?  Fill out our adoption application and become an adopter today!  It's free and adopters are never obligated to take home a pet.   For questions about becoming an exotic pet adopter, contact Liz Barraco, Amnesty Adoption Coordinator, at 561-393-3287 or at, or Jenny Novak, Amnesty Program Coordinator, at 850-617-9554 or at
