Third Annual Free Women’s Fishing Clinic! Crystal River WFC – Teaching women a lifelong hobby and appreciation for our marine environment, as well as providing a fun, laid-back learning atmosphere are the goals for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commissions (FWC) Women’s Fishing Clinics. The FWC encourage women in the Crystal River area to register for the upcoming, free Women’s Fishing Clinic in Crystal River Fl November 17th. The clinic will take place at the Fort Island Trail Park from 9 am until 5 pm. Preregistration is required and classes are capped at 20 participants. This free clinic enables women to learn the basics of environmental stewardship, fishing ethics, angling skills and safety. Clinics strive toward several goals, but the main objective is to create responsible marine resource stewards by teaching women about the vulnerability of Florida’s marine ecosystems. In addition, organizers hope to teach fundamental saltwater fishing skills and provide participants a positive fishing experience. The FWC will loan fishing equipment and provide bait during the clinic, but participants are encouraged to bring their own gear. If conditions allow, women will have the opportunity to practice their newly learned skills and fish from a pier. This event is a catch-and-release activity, and all participants must have a valid recreational saltwater fishing license unless exempt. Please email Jennifer Saranzak at Jennifer.saranzak@myfwc.com or call (352) 543-9219 X 216 to register or for more information.
