We will meet at Bayside Campground at 8am and will then head out to various parts of the WMA. The clean-up will end around 12pm with a “Party on the Point” where we can enjoy a local favorite beach on the bay, eat lunch, and tally up how much trash we collected! Firehouse Subs Navarre will be providing sandwiches for lunch.

Maps and directions will be sent to all those who are registered for the event. Escribano Point WMA is located off of 87, about halfway between Navarre and Milton. The GPS coordinates are 30.514092, -86.982673.

Walkers & Kayakers Needed!

This litter clean-up will take place both on the land and on the water. We need help from walkers to clean up an old access road that is no longer open to the public, but still holds litter from when it was open. We also need kayakers to help clean up the marshy shoreline of the WMA. Those wishing to kayak/canoe will need to provide their own boat, paddle, life jacket, etc.

**Please note: We have hit our capacity for kayakers, but still invite you to walk! Please email Emily.hardin@myfwc.com if you are interested in being put on the waitlist for kayaking.

Space is limited! Register now to join our clean-up efforts. If registration is full, you will be put on a waiting list.

Weather: We will be monitoring the forecast for Sunday and will be making a final call Saturday evening. If wind and water conditions are deemed unsafe for kayaking, we invite everyone to walk. If thunder or lightening are imminent, we have will have to postpone or cancel. Please ensure that the phone number used in the registration is the best way to reach you, and if not, please email Emily.hardin@myfwc.com with your preferred phone number.

Important Notes:

  • When registering, please choose which "session" you would like to sign up for - walking or kayaking

  • All kayakers will need to provide their own kayak and life jacket, and must wear a life jacket at all times
