Join us for a morning of exploration at May’s Prairie! We'll discuss some of the creatures that call this area home and journey to the outdoor classroom at May's Prairie. There, staff will use dipnets to gather specimens to examine - primarily from the boardwalk surrounding the classroom - and will help identify what is discovered and share what it means to have such diverse species present.

It's recommended that participants bring water & sun protection. This program is open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 

Spots are limited and registration is required. Please register everyone that will be attending. To register, click on the 'Register' button above. If you register, but find you are unable to make it to the event, please let us know so we can open up that space for someone else. Thank you!

The walking portion of this program is a total of 0.8 miles along our hiking trails which have loose, sandy soil. There is ADA parking and walkways available to access the center, but someone with mobility challenges may find it difficult to navigate the trail walking portion of the program. We will have a UTV available to transport people who need assistance. Chinsegut also has one track chair available on a first come, first serve basis for people with mobility challenges. If you would like to participate in this program and feel like you would benefit from the use of the chair, please contact us to request an accommodation.
