We will be planting various species of Native Florida plants in the GCR area of FWC's Royce Ranch Property. The Ridge Ranger Garden Club has been working for years to take these plants from just seeds, to seedlings, to immature plants, to healthy and mature plants that are ready to move out of the nursery and into the ground. This event has become a continuous project because of the successful efforts of previous Ridge Rangers. Much appreciation to all who have contributed to its success!
We will work in the flat wooded area near the bathroom and water facilities.
Goal: To plant as many Florida native species within FWC's Royce Ranch property
Recommended attire: long pants, closed toe shoes, hat, and sunscreen. Recommended gear: work gloves and water bottle. Optional bring-along: snacks. Cold water and restrooms are located near the work site. Bags will be provided for collecting plants and plant parts. We will meet at the main office on the Royce Ranch property. (Upon entry at the main gate, take the dirt road headed toward the office. You will see signs that lead to the office and parking lot.)
Here's a photo of one of the many uniquely beautiful Florida plants that we will plant. You're welcome to stay after the event to enjoy the Royce Ranch property and its trails.
Driving Directions: Take US 27 South towards Lake Placid. Make a left at the traffic light onto County Rd 621 E.
