A recent controlled burn has revealed a barbed wire fence that needs to be removed for safety and to enhance habitat.

You'll be helping to restore habitat to a pristine state, as well as making the area safer for conservation workers and wildlife by removing old fencing.

Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, long sleeves, and a hat. Bring your work gloves and a hiker's water bottle or similar. We'll have cold drinking water and all the tools needed.

We'll meet in the main parking area by the offices at Royce (directions below). Please wear closed toe shoes and bring your work gloves and a hiker's water bottle
or similar to carry drinking water.

Directions

From the corner of US 27 and CR 621 in Lake Placid, go east on CR 621 1.7 miles to Hallmark Avenue on the left. Turn left on Hallmark. After 3.6 miles the road makes a sharp left and sharp right and changes names to Royce Ranch Ave. After a total of 5.0 miles on Hallmark / Royce Ranch Ave, Royce Ranch is on the left, marked by an FWC logo. Turn left onto the driveway and follow it back to the offices.
