***CELEBRATE NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY BY PLANTING WIREGRASS AT HALF MOON!!***
Please help biologists restore native habitat by planting wiregrass Half Moon Wildlife Management Area for the benefit of wildlife in the area.
PLEASE ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 8:00 A.M. VOLUNTEERS WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO THE WORKSITES IN 4WD VEHICLES AT 8:10 A.M.
Driving Directions to FWC Half Moon From State Road 44, head north on County Road 247 for approximately 1.5 miles to the main entrance. Continue north past Wall Road and keep to the right. We will meet at the check station (approximately 2.5 miles from State Road 44).
What to bring
Bring your gloves. Drinking water will be available, bring a water bottle.
Restrooms
There are facilities at the Half Moon Check Station but no facilities in the field.
What to wear
Long pants (long sleeve shirt recommended), sturdy shoes or boots, hat and sunscreen are highly recommended.
You will be working in some brush and uneven terrain.
