| Don’t miss this rare and exciting opportunity to meet the biologists who manage Chinsegut Wildlife Environmental Area and observe first-hand what a prescribed fire entails! This program will take place rain or shine. Weather permitting, we will first have a presentation outdoors under the pole barn about the importance of prescribed fire and go over how biologists prepare for a burn. Then staff will go over and demonstrate some of the fire equipment they use. Lastly, there will be a small live fire demonstration on the lawn. If weather does not cooperate, we will have an abbreviated version of the program inside the center that will not include live fire or show and tell with the brush truck. In either case, prescribed fire related worksheets and coloring sheets will be available to take home! To keep things safe and enjoyable for everyone, spots are limited and registration is required.
