This site is near Deer Point Lake. From either Hwy. 77 or 231, take Co. Rd. 2321 to Co. Rd. 2311, then turn right onto Tara Ln. We will meet at the end of the cul-de-sac. Directions and a map will be sent to participants prior to the event.
What will we be doing?
We will be removing (by hand) hardwood species and overstory vegetation from a crayfish habitat restoration site. The goal of this project is to restore this area to habitat that the Panama City Crayfish can utilize. The Panama City Crayfish is listed as a Species of Special Concern, and is only found in Panama City, FL.
What to Bring:
- Loppers and gloves will be provided (but feel free to bring your own if you prefer)
What to Wear:
- We have some boots and waders we can lend out, but they are limited
Important Notes:

Be mindful that you will be working in the vicinity of potential hazards, such as falling trees

Minors under 18 years old must have signed permission from a legal parent or guardian

Minors 15 years and under must be accompanied by an adult (and have signed permission)

There are no facilities at the site
