Bog Frog Habitat Restoration
Friday, September 21st @ 8:30am
Yellow River WMA (Milton/Holt area)
Help biologists restore habitat for the FL Bog Frog, a state threatened species. True to their name, these rare amphibians inhabit boggy areas along slow-moving streams and pond edges. One of their main threats is habitat loss as woody plants and trees overtake their bog habitat and shade out smaller, early succession vegetation vital to the bog frogs.
Volunteers will use loppers and other hand tools to remove woody and overstory growth from bog restoration areas to provide more habitat for FL Bog Frogs.
