The FWC, Audubon Florida, Keep PCB Beautiful, and Panama City Beach Turtle Watch are teaming up with Springhill Suites, Hampton Inn, and Bikini Beach Resort to host a beach clean-up event in preparation for shorebird and sea turtle nesting seasons! Join us on Leap Day, Feb. 29th, 2020, as we gather to clean up litter and debris that could pose risks to shorebirds and sea turtles. We will have educational tables, so come ready with any questions for our biologists! After the cleanup, join us at 12:30pm at the Springhill Suites for a BBQ (for purchase) and live entertainment by the Band Maze (free!)

Why: Litter and debris can pose risks to wildlife such as the shorebirds and sea turtles that utilize our beaches every year to nest. Ingestion and entanglement are two of the biggest threats.

What to Bring: sunscreen, hat, water, etc. Some find it easier to collect litter in a 5-gallon bucket - feel free to bring your own!

We will supply trash bags, gloves, and a limited number of trash grabbers.

Minors: Minors under the age of 18 should be accompanied by an adult.
