Introduction to Shooting Sports: Shotgun is an O.W.L.S. (Outdoor Weekend Learning Seminar) event. The design of this O.W.L.S. event is to provide both youth and adults with a hands-on opportunity to learn about firearm safety and shotgun shooting basics.

This event is designed for novice or amateur shooters who have a desire to learn about firearm safety and shotgun shooting basics. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced hunters, shooters, and firearm enthusiasts. Not only will you have the opportunity to expand your knowledge of firearms and firearm safety, but you will also have the opportunity to put it all into practice on the shotgun range.
Instructions: - Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in.
- Anyone under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
- Anyone under 18 years of age must have completed (signed) parental release form. Parental release forms available at the following link: https://myfwc.com/media/1435/parentalreleaseform.pdf
Additional Information: - This is a FREE event.
- Portions of this class are outdoors. Please dress appropriately. Closed toe shoes are recommended due to safety concerns on the range.
- Feel free to bring drinks and snacks to enjoy throughout our day together.
- Event attendees may bring their personal eye and hearing protection, but all safety equipment will be provided.
- You may bring your personal shotgun for this event if you wish to do so. 20-gauge shotguns will be provided by the FWC for event participants to use. 20-gauge and 12-gauge ammunition will also be provided by the FWC.
