We will be helping to plant roughly 1,000 Long Leaf Pines at FWC's Platt Branch property. This event has been set-up by Highlands County Audubon Society, and they are asking for our help! This event is a partnership between Audubon Society and Ridge Rangers volunteers. It has become a continuous project because of the successful efforts of previous Ridge Rangers. Much appreciation to all who have contributed to its success!
We will work in the flat wooded area near the bathroom and water facilities. Plants will be removed from their pots and planted into the ground.  Goal: to plant roughly 1,000 Long Leaf Pines in various areas of FWC's Platt Branch property
Recommended attire: long pants, closed toe shoes, hat, and sunscreen. Recommended gear: work gloves and water bottle. Optional bring-along: snacks. Cold water and restrooms are located near the work site. Bags will be provided for litter and debris.  We will meet at the entrance gate to Platt Branch WEA. There will be about a 300-yard walk to the main planting area. It's possible to shuttle volunteers over if need be.
